Katy and Ollie’s romantic, vintage wedding at Montsalvat in Eltham was pure joy and combined smart eco friendly ‘very them ideas’ like vintage books alongside big Bridgerton romantic vibes. This wedding felt very considered. The planning was thoughtful, the details were clever, and the whole celebration still managed to feel relaxed and easy.
Montsalvat is an ideal wedding setting. With its stone buildings, archways and layered gardens, it carries a sense of history and calm. With amazing little interesting pockets all over the grounds, photographing here is both straightforward and rewarding. There are endless options for portraits and for guests to explore.
From Monsalvat Katy and Ollie moved on to a reception at the energetic and fun Post Office Hotel (ps they’re great to deal with). One detail I particularly loved was the vintage book favours. Each guest received a title chosen just for them, scoured over months from opshops. Hooray for gifts that spark conversation between guests and something that can be legitimately enjoyed long term.
What defined this day more than anything was the absolute riotous joy, completely in step with who Katy and Ollie are. Their wedding balanced personality with thought and atmosphere; their venue choices amplified that balance without stealing the focus.
Personally, working with both Hester from Hester Mary Maries and Ruby from Down the Road Weddings made this experience even more wonderful. This wedding was basically my dream team of vendors at one of the loveliest spots. Copy paste guys. Copy paste.
