Lucy & Cam

Happy and Beautiful DIY Wedding in Country Victoria

I loved this happy and beautiful DIY wedding in Country Victoria.

I first met Lucy's mum Jane in a hospital where she was a midwife for the birth of some twins that I was photographing. We kept in touch and after Lucy and Cam were mucked around by COVID, I happened (so glad!) to be available for their last minute booking.

Lucy and Cam's wedding was at their family farm out near Alexandra in Victoria's High Country. Jane sewed a kilometre (!) of white bunting to line the road in and from there it just exploded into a celebration of joy.

From a risky bridal arrival on a VERY flat tyre, to a gazebo built over several months by Cam and his new father in law as the backdrop for their ceremony - onto a reception where food was cooked and served by family members, a barn dance led by Lucy's brother and then a 4WD trip up to an incredible mountain top on sunset this day was topped off with a great big farm bonfire. Just the best!

This was a crazy fun, happy, beautiful and enjoyable wedding - rich with family and the love they showed each other in so many practical ways.

Lucy says: "Our wedding was planned in 6 weeks due to COVID lockdowns. As such, everything was homegrown - flowers, food, decorations were all put together by friends and family. It felt like a barn raising!"
