From the brand: This shoot is for an new Australian babywear brand for little beginnings made from 100% cotton. Weโ€™re keeping our limited collection under wraps for now, but the shoot will have a very natural, warm, and elevated family feel, focusing on genuine moments and connection rather than anything too posed. Think of a get together to celebrate the mum & baby surrounded by parents aunts grandma and little cousins.

As I took my โ€œfunโ€ camera (which is also new to me) โ€ฆ and I am definitely not all over the low light capabilities or limitations rather of the Fuji x100vi just yet but am very pleased with the promist 1/4 filter on the evening light. Book week - Queen of Hearts โ™ฅ๏ธ (usually I let the Book week - Queen of Hearts โ™ฅ๏ธ (usually I let the girls fend for themselves but assisted a bit more this time as library captain and final bookweek) Opshop red dress and shoes Giant cards also from opshop $1 ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป- stapled to ribbon which we then safety pinned to the bottom of the dress. Also stapled to elastic for crown. Throw blanket that I found on bargain table at Spotlight (just with a safety pin) for the cloak. White tights. (Did have to buy these) Necklace that Cรฉleste made from some card charms she happened to have. Gem staff thing that my dad made Cรฉleste a few years back. And then blue eyeshadow, hearts drawn on with eyeliner and red lipstick in a heart shape. I did get very lucky with the opshop dress find (it was also quite cheap) but really this is quite a simple costume. (Not as easy as Maggieโ€™s which was just overalls and jumper ๐Ÿ˜…) #bookweek #bookweekcostume #queenofhearts
Babies being babies! Unsettled babies during new Babies being babies! Unsettled babies during newborn sessions do not phase me. We are there to document life as it is and sometimes the reality of newborn photos isnโ€™t sleepy perfection. I have many tricks and ways of photographing babies - being held, being fed, being settled. Eyes open, eyes shut. The calm and snuggly, the peaceful and the not so much. Your photos will still be beautiful.
