I’m based in the outer east of Melbourne, towards the beautiful Yarra Valley. I service Melbourne and surrounds and am more than happy to travel further pending availability, just ask!
Besides any extra travel costs (anywhere 1hr from my 3136 location is included) my pricing is all inclusive. I don’t like hidden extras!
Please get in touch for further information.
All your images will be carefully edited in a combination of colour and black and white images. You will recieve high resolution print ready files on a lovely wooden USB along with a password protected online gallery ready for sharing with friends and family. I do not provide RAW images under any circumstances if you would like to know why I’m happy to have a conversation with you.
Albums and prints are by additional arrangement although you are more than welcome to do your own. I’m not precious about it!
My albums are pretty beautiful (I think so at least!) I have a sample available to show you if you are interested and we can have a chat about all your options. Wedding albums start from $800.
I sure do! I’m more than happy to help you find the right spot to take your photos, I know lots of great locations and can do some scouting if need be. If you have somewhere in mind that you would like to use that’s totally fine too, you can keep it all in your own backyard if you like! Some locations do need permits so I can find that out for you too.
Sometimes! Many weddings won’t need a second photographer and to keep costs down I certainly don’t require you to have a second photographer unless you want one there!
Occasionally logistics or timing will mean that you’ll be better off having a second person. If you book a wedding that is 10hrs long I do need to have someone else there to tag team with for breaks so that we don’t miss moments.
Optional second photographers can come for all or part of your day for $60ph (minimum hours apply).
I occasionally work with assistants if it is going to be a long day or I am in the middle of my busy season and I’d like some extra hands.
Weddings photos will be ready for you within 8 weeks. Usually sooner unless it’s peak wedding season!
Family sessions or other events I aim to get your photos to you as soon as possible and within a month. If you have a deadline to meet please let me know!
For weddings it depends very much on how long I’m there for and the variety in your day! I list minimums on my time based wedding packages but usually you’ll get more than that. I will definitely give you all the images that I think are worth having and I don’t work to a restricted number.
For family sessions, you can choose if you’d like to have all the images from the session or to have a select reduced number with the option to buy more (And I’ll only show you the others if you want to see them! I don’t like sneaky upselling, it’s not my style but I’ve found that some people do prefer to recieve images this way to keep the original cost down and can choose to spend how much they want.)
Event coverage varies so please contact me with some details and I can provide you with a no obligation quote.
The long and short of it, is that if there is an image I think that is worth having you will get it.
I really love working with kids. I have two daughters (2 and 4). I aim to make sessions as fun as possible and work hard to win even the most reluctant participant over. I want your kids to be engaged so that it takes the stress away to help you relax and enjoy your shoot together. I have a current working with children check and have once shot a wedding with 9 flowergirls and page boys and think I did a pretty good job with them (The bride thought I did too!).
I’d love it if you gave me a list of the family group shots that you’d like but aside from that it is not super helpful for me to be working off a list. I have a great list of the ‘must get classics’ in my head (the kind you find on wedding blogs) and enough experience to make sure I get those shots I know you want, but to get natural images of what is actually happening it’s safer to let me roam and to trust me to notice what’s going on. Naturally if there is a shot you would love me to get that I might not know about – I want you to tell me about it! Lets keep the conversation open! Also… dare I say it, table shots of guests are pretty 90’s, real moments are much nicer than messy tables and those awkward dinner group shots.
I shoot with up to date gear – Nikon cameras and a combo of Nikon and Sigma lenses. I have a primary camera (Nikon D750) and a solid backup. I shoot to dual cards (that’s two copies of every photo I take) and back things up to an external drive as soon as I get home. I will flash for evening receptions if I need to or if I think I really need it at other times but like to maximise natural light to its full advantage. I prefer not to use flash during ceremonies as I aim to be invisible!
I’ve actually shot a lot of rainy weddings! I’ve got some umbrellas or you are welcome to bring your own, usually you can duck in and out from under cover, we can find shelter in some surprising locations or do some moody indoor shots. Rainy days result in great colours!
If it’s a family shoot (especially with kids) we may decide to reschedule or you are welcome to bring your gumboots!
Matching jeans and white t-shirts are kind of 80’s, but if you want a cohesive vibe picking a tonal range can look nice (matching but not “matchy-matchy”). At the end of the day, wear what you are comfortable in and what you’d like to be photographed in! It’s probably best to avoid clothing with words/big brand names across them.
I have a story-telling style that is part documentary and part what you could call ‘naturally posed’. I aim for honest and beautiful imagery. Some of the time this means photographing exactly what is going on but it’s also about you being next to the one you love (In some great light) and interacting together. I want you to have images that you can’t not print, that you can look at and say yep, that’s us.
My editing style aims to balance those dreamy film style trends (in moderation!) with a classic feel to help with the longevity of your images. I like realistic skin tones and I am not afraid of contrast and colour although I also love a good black and white. I edit all my own work and don’t outsource this process.
Firstly, get in contact! I’d love to meet you and hear more about your day! We can have a chat and I can show you some more work and we can see if we’d be a good fit for each other. If you decide that I’m the photographer for you, there’s a booking fee of 20% to reserve your date and final payment is due two weeks prior to the wedding, there’s also a contract to look after us both. Family and portrait sessions need to be paid in full prior to the shoot and a contract signed before we start.
